It?s that time of the year that is full of excitement and colour, a time for family and friends to come together and celebrate. Yes it is the season of Navaratri. As the name gives away, this festival spans for a total of nine nights and ten days and is celebrated for various reasons across our nation. In the eastern and north-eastern states of India, it is celebrated as Durga Pooja to honour the victory of goddess Durga over the buffalo demon to help restore Dharma. In the northern and western states, it is celebrated as Dussehra to honour the victory of god Rama over the demon king Ravana. In southern states, it is celebrated as Saraswati Pooja, to honour the victory of different avatars of Saraswati. In all cases, the common theme is the battle and victory of Good over Evil.

When it comes to Navaratri, the first thing that comes to most of our minds is Dandiya. A traditional dance having its origins in the Indian state of Gujarat, Dandiya is pleasing to the human eyes because of the colourful lehengas of the dancers and the vibrant music. YoungTalento gives you an opportunity to show off your Dandiya skills this month. Yes, this season our dance contest is on the theme of Dandiya and we are more than excited to see your colourful performance.
